2020 VIE13 KUSTOM JOHN WOODMAN MEMORIAL WAGGA TO ALBURY CYCLING CLASSIC 22-11-2020
Sad announcement about this year's Wagga-Albury: we have to cancel. Please read below the statement from the club committee:
"The General Committee of Albury Wodonga Cycling Club, at its regular monthly meeting of 10 August 2020, has made the decision to cancel the John Woodman Memorial Wagga-Albury Cycling Classic for this year.
We made this decision with regret, but see this as a temporary matter, for we look forward to the race appearing on the calendar again in 2021.
There are two reasons that led to this decision. Firstly, it is far from certain that the race will be permitted, as the authorities seeking to reduce the spread of Covid-19 make regular updates to regulations on public events. Secondly, even if the race were to run, we suspect the number of entrants would be too few to cover costs."
Albury Wodonga Cycling Club are proud to present the 34th John Woodman Memorial Wagga To Albury Cycling Classic. The event is run in the memory of John Woodman, an exceptional cyclist who was tragically killed while training in 1986.
This iconic race runs through the undulating countryside between Wagga Wagga and Albury for 136km. It has been won by many terrific cyclists including multiple Grand Tour Stage Winner, Michael Matthews in 2008.
