Kangaroo Hoppet 2024 FINAL A4

Kangaroo Hoppet 2024 has been cancelled

Unfortunately the 2024 Kangaroo Hoppet has been cancelled due to rapidly deteriorating snow conditions on the course, combined with a weather forecast of warm temperatures and rain in the next week, which means it is not possible to host an event on the scale of the Kangaroo Hoppet.

The Kangaroo Hoppet is Australia's premier long distance cross country ski race. It is a member of the prestigious Wordloppet series of popular international cross country ski events.

The 42 kilometre Kangaroo Hoppet lets you explore cross country skiing at Falls Creek at its best. The course includes twice around Sun Valley loop, Watchbed Creek, The Paralyser, Heathy Spur and Pauls Track.

As well as the main 42 kilometre event, there are shorter 21 kilometre Australian Birkebeiner and seven kilometre Joey Hoppet events to suit all ranges of age and ability.

The Hoppet event is a feast of skiing and social activities at Falls Creek for all ages and abilities leading up to the race itself on the fourth Saturday of August. Spectators are welcome to view the event at the mountain.
